And finally loaded on my friends heavy duty single axle trailer and up at the farm:

All the controls are crisp and work perfectly and the steering clutches work perfectly and feel as smooth as butter. I guess this is how a new D2 should feel!
And the necessary glamour shots, I'll try getting some in better light another day, this was after 9pm tonight! Quite pleased with how she looks:

Unfortunately for the last 3 months the D2 has occupied the place where my wife's car usually sits! So, you can imagine the reaction if I popped another project in there
No, I've got a beautiful wife and two and half year old daughter (you might have notice various associated objects in the background of my photos) that I need to spend some time with. I also want to enjoy driving the D2 and using it as well, especially with the new tight back end and smooth steering clutches!

reminds me of that fisher&paykel ad for thier dishwashers. the wife is standing there with him and asks what's this? a 5/8 ring spanner and this ? a rocker cover off the v8 then she wacks him with the spanner.

if she is somewhat happy then your allowed to be happy. my mum rules the roost at home.

that d2 has cleaned up very well for original paint.

How'd that pickup and trailer go with the load Mark? Looks a bit on the small side for hauling 3 tons but maybe the photo's not doing it justice

The trailer is built for street sweepers and is built around a heavy duty truck axle and is more than able for the weight (it also tilts so is very easy for loading). The pickup is a new gen (2023) Ford Ranger with a 3500kg towing capacity,  so a bit on the light side. Luckily I only had to take it less than 2kms and I went very carefully, and it seemed to cope with it just fine.
