Orrin,

Been reading your latest epistles. It seems that the idea of "Six degrees of separation" is holding true. I have former students now living in Perth and Melbourne. There is also one in one of the suburbs of Denver, but for the life of me I can't remember which town. Been trying for a couple of years to catch up with Neil at Canandaigua, but haven't managed it yet. I think he moves too fast. I'm not sure where I'd find him. I'm usually around the saw mill, thresher or something in that area. My ugly mug shows up on the You-tube vids. Have you been on a steamer since you and John Neal went for rides? Good to see you are still chugging along.

Norm, I'm planning to take you up on the offer of getting on the belt at the show in August, if I can get my old clunker back together. Have to work fast and smart, two things I have not ever heard when people describe me.....

Cheers,

Hi Neil & Norm,
Hope you two make a connection and enjoy the Canandaigua Steam-Up.
I had a great time some years back when Norm had me tying bags for the thresher.
So I highly recommend, to all, doing any volunteer work at the show you can handle.

Hadn't tied a miller's' knot in 60+ years and it sure brought back some wonderful
memories of summer farm life in the '40 n' 50's in the New York's Bristol Valley only
15 miles from the show grounds. The little hamlet of Vincent(originally Muttonville because
the sheep skins were dried on the fences)had 10 houses and 2 telephones. The general store
wouldn't take personal calls so my Aunt & Uncle's phone was "THE" phone to call....them one of
"us" three kids would have to run to a neighbors to tell them they had a phone call or deliver some message
...now it seems the whole world carries a cell or smart phone in their pocket 24/7!! Progress!!
