Glen,

You had told me the Ghilotti history previously but it was nice to hear it again. A real American success story. You have a lot to be proud of and I know all of us here thank you for sharing your time and talent. Congratulations to you and your family.

To Glen and everyone at Team Ghilotti. It has been a great family legacy extending back over 100 years and a great ten years for this small piece.

I wish you ten times that ten years more!

It is nice to remember the history and pay your proper respects. I'm sure that is one of the reasons for your success.

Pete.

Hey Team,

If you haven't read the other thread yet, just wanted to let Siamese interested folks know that it will be on the highways heading south towards the Santa Margarita Show tomorrow morning. It'll be at The Best of the West Show next month on display.

What an interesting read!

The transverse walking beam connecting the two halves looks like a great idea to eliminate the stresses in the original "solid" design. I am curious though as the horizontal distance between the two end pins of the walking beam changes very slightly as the beam oscillates in uneven terrain.

So I'm guessing that there must be sort of short connecting link at each end to allow the change in distance? I'm assuming that the pivot connection at the rear of the dozer(s) doesn't allow for any lateral movement between the two halves.

Thanks for posting the pic. I'm guessing there might be some sort of a cushion mount around the pins at the end of the walking beam. There may not be much lateral movement needed depending on the amount the walking beam is allowed to oscillate.
I don't really need to know, my mechanical mind just gets curious sometimes.
