Hi, Glen.
Great Stuff. I suspect that seeing them look like that would help to make it all worthwhile. I will be looking forward to seeing them 'in the paint' next time I'm over the puddle.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Well, that is certainly a very impressive machine, well done to the Ghilotti / Petersen team.
A couple of questions...
The driver controls appear to be on the right hand machine, The standard driving position on all other cats I have come across is on the left hand side (13A, 14A, 15A, etc.), was there a reason for this ?
Also, I can see that the steering clutches and main clutches of both machines are connected to single controls, yet the gear change controls still appear independent, if this is so, it must have required two people to drive it, or a delay in changing gear while the operator moves two gear levers, or is this one of the 'features' of these machines ?

Hi, Gauntjoh.
As I understand it, these jiggers were a lot like the Euclid TC12/Terex 82-80 in that you could steer them in any one - or more - of four different ways:

1. Conventional steering clutches and brakes.

2. One engine throttled up or down more than the other.

3. One side in a higher or lower gear than the other.

4. One side in forward and one in reverse.

I am open to correction on this.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hello John,

The drivers spot was chosen from an original build. It is not a preferred spot, but an historical one. I'm glad Deas Plant is open to correction, as this machine is unlike the controls of the prior Buster builds and has a unique feature. Ed Akin wanted the two tractors to be locked together in the drive train. The first ones were not. The first three builds simply had one engine control one track. This machine everything is locked together. One engine can drive the tractor and compression start the other engine. If you look at the controls you'll see a brake style logging winch control handle. None of the prior builds had this control. It opens the inner steering frictions. With this control it can then be operated like Deas described. One engine controlling each track. One track can go forward, and one track can go in reverse. Or one tractor in 1st gear and one in 2nd to doze in a curve. Or one 3/4 throttle and one full throttle and so on. There may be a few more tips I can get from the "Owners Manual" for this machine, but we haven't written it yet!!! Hahahaha

Have you drove it yet Glen? I anxiously await the video of seeing and hearing it tooling around. And then I patiently wait to see it push. Its to pretty to get dirty right away. Good times ahead.

Hey OIH,

Nope, I haven't bought an "E" ticket ride yet!!! Trying to save up, I hear tickets are very expensive!!!
ROFLMAO

It's got 832' of total traveled distance on the girls now... LOL... Good things are worth waiting for. I did ruin the nice paint job by adjusting the pedals so I can use the brakes without my knees hitting my chest(ok...belly) hahahaha The painters have got some touch up to do...
