Bigred,
That Stromberg looks similar, but the throttle and choke mechanism and linkage all looks reversed and on the wrong side. Maybe that's because you drive from the wrong side of the vehicle over there, I don't know 😂. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that other device on the choke mechanism is for an automatic choke too, which won't be ideal for this application.

I goggled it and someone on a Holden website said the model was BXUV-2 for the earlier smaller engines and BXV-2 for the later larger engines. But, your ebay carb and these models might be similar enough to be used. Take a look at what the first poster on this thread says - www.fastlane.com.au/Forum/postsm25105_all-about-strombergs.aspx

Cheers,

I was able to find a magneto from Mark's Mags in Connecticut. Mark told me from the pictures I sent that it had already been swapped to a Wico mag. I should get the mag in a few days.

Carbs Only in California is sending me a carb kit...assuming it's the right one. Mark's Mags told me to contact Carb Specialist in Georgia and talk to John or Greg to get better info on the carb, carb kit, or possibly the whole carb. I ended up getting Greg on the phone. He sent me pictures of where the model/serial info should be on the carb and I forwarded that to the owner. Hopefully, I have that info soon.

Also, I have Robin at Ray's Used Equipment in Texas attempting to find filters. Do you all know what filters a 9G uses for air, fuel, and oil?

I'm going to have quite a bit of money into this thing before I ever see it

I had a closer look at the Stromberg carbs I've used, the number on the mounting flange is:
2376050
BXUV-2

The number on the top of the carb on a metal strip is:
23 • 3005-4C

Also, a drum of diesel engine oil is all you will need to service the air cleaner after you give it a clean, it should be an oil bath type with washable screens. No new filter required there.

Here's a couple more pictures too.

rare spares will probably have parts for a stromberg carb they were made by bendix corporation. very common on general motors-holden vehicles.

As for filters the air is a oil bath unit, so the cheapest motor oil you can find. The original oil filter was a brass screen, but many where updated to the by pass type canaster. The fuel was also a brass screen from factory. But they also had a update kit to use the same string wound filter that was standard in Cats until the 1950's.
