You know it's too bad that P&H is still there since it looks like it is mostly complete

Paul, you read my mind. If they didn't break that down a little in the field and make several trips, that Huey was just running recon for a bigger bird. A Chinook would definitely be one of the possibilities. Can't wait to see the story now.

Some additional information about the DVD:

All proceeds will go towards the Al Smith and Allison Bloom Memorial Scholarship Programs.
The DVD should be made available by the first or second week of March and will be a great addition to the ACMOC store.

It is only by the generosity of both Doug and Matt Veerkamp that this DVD will be made available to the public through ACMOC.
A big thank you goes out to the Veerkamps, Shawn Stover and Tom Madden for making this adventure come true and letting all the ACMOC members
participate in this "Quest for the Best" by reading about it in the upcoming ACMOC magazine issue 114 and the DVD.

Thanks for sharing Guys!

Any idea of the cost of the DVD yet. I really enjoyed the National show DVD.

The DVD will be offered at $12.00 per copy. We hope to have it ready to ship about the first week of March, coinciding with the arrival of the magazine with the article in it.

Pete, any idea on how many memberships and renewals this adventure brought in?

Would there be any advantage to postal rates to ship the mag with the DVD for any folks that are willing to pay for the DVD before the magazine is posted? Just checking to see if there is a way to save the club a few bucks.

Mike, I'm not sure how many. I can tell you we've had a lot of calls at the office to sign up as a member with the caller wanting to make sure they get a copy of the next magazine. I'll get some statistics from the girls in the office about new membership count since this story started, versus the same month in the prior couple of years and report back.

I know this story has created a lot of interest and I really appreciate Matt and Doug for including us in it, and for kindly designating that the proceeds be designated for our scholarship fund. I think there may be more installments to this story as things progress.

old-iron-habit - That is a good thought, but we get bulk rate shipping from the producer to our office. I think it would cost us more to pay them to break out and direct ship the DVD's to a list of addresses than it will cost to have them shipped as a block to our office, then have our staff ship them on to each recipient. We get a pretty good rate on domestic and Canadian shipping. We're working on several solutions to bring the overseas costs down, which will let us bring down the charge we have to pass along. I think the best deal will be to just place your orders when we have the item available in the store.

Thank you for your interest.

Pete.

Things are going well with the Best, Engine is all apart and tracks are off! Engine shows very little wear except the areas that have been damaged by standing water. Babbitt is in great shape, cylinders are getting new sleeves but that's the worst of it. (so Far) ...........She is nice and warm in the shop.....
