great pics! takes me back to my first job out of high school in 1957, harvesting peas for Green Giant in eastern Washington. they grew peas on hills that were too steep to grow wheat. I drove a very pretty D6 pulling a loader which picked up the rows of swathed peas and dumped them into a truck running alongside, chained to the Cat to keep it from tipping over on the side hills.

Under that 1/8" layer of dust it's WET, water standing in places. Just about the time it drys out some we get another shot of rain. One thing about this country it WILL dry out.
Dads D4E should have a sticker that says General Tractor and Implement, Pomeroy Washington. It's a small sticker about half of a playing card. Probably long gone by now though.

That's a great film Paul, that truck mounted sprayer is just an amazing width, seems as wide as a lot of modern sprayers !

Looking at steel tracks again and saw great photos from Ted Wiks, that reminded me of my mothers cousin Ross McKenzie's AC's in the 50's farming rice. He repowered an HD9 with an inline 671 that worked well and repowered an HD20 with a 12V71. The HD 20's were popular for a short time for pushing scrapers because of the torque converter which Ross replaced with an oil clutch. The 20' had a 2 speed transmission to go with the torque converter which required moving gears around in the transmission and some machine work to get a 7.5 mile/hour gear. With the 450 hp speed was mostly regulated with the throttle.

Great movie Paul, thanks for posting.
7Us were very popular around these parts, ours was a five roller, direct electric start. Previous owner had put a 955 seat tank, and large front idlers on it. Dad added an oil clutch. It was, and still is a dandy farm cat. SN 42288.

Great lineup there, did you guys get a big rain up there last night? I was hoping to start seeding next week, but we got an inch of rain last night. I'm afraid time is running out for us this far south.

I'm not a farmer , just like the older cats , took these pictures not to far from Lacrosse about
3 or 4 weeks back , we did get rained on but not sure how much , was in Pullman all day,
although the wheat is looking really good up here ( close to Winona ) . I do have a D7 4T1
on the coast just need to move it here when I can afford to do so .
