Tom, Willie, and other members of the show steering committee: this is lining up to be the best show on earth! Cross-over interest in antique trucks is strong in this group, too. GWH

George:

As you are aware, the Hays Truck Museum is a component in the Heidrick Ag History Center, the Show Host. As such, There will be many Antique Trucks at the show and we have made presentations to a couple of the Antique Truck Branches in Northern California. I know we also have a group of truck enthusiasts coming to the show from So. Cal. These collectors bring the added benefit of being able to haul their tractors and engines as well.

Although this will be primarily a Holt, Best and Caterpillar show, the line up of rare early California gas engines and early steel wheel tractors and California tractors is growing daily. Willie gave a presentation to EDGE& TA branch 13 on Saturday and it sounds like they will have wide spread participation.

We are working with close to 150 acres of land so we have lots of room for everyone and anything.

Speaking of everything, I was speaking with Brian McCloud who is trying to arrange trucking so he can bring his D9 push Cat to the show so he can assist Glen in loading the 660, I believe Hans Hilleby of Woodland will also be bringing his D 9 cable dozer, I think an 18A to the show so he can assist as well. We will have lots of Cats with cans and dozers to assist in this working display.

More later.

As Willie said in one of his other posts, we have been putting together a short program for RFDTV to be aired in late March (we hope) on the Thursday night tractor program.

Thursday filming was done in Ontario CA at Don Hunters and will feature Don's full scale Holt steam crawler and Friday we filmed at Jack Wallace's ranch and at the Heidrick Museum. Our good friend Kurt Aumann has greased the skids to allow us to have this preview of our show on RFDTV. Our contact tells us that this program will be broadcast into 200 million households world wide and in excess of 4 million in California alone. Hopefully those of you who have not made your plans to attend will do so after seeing the show and you will bring your friends with you.

I got an email from a collector in New Zealand and he and about 9 of his mates are making the trek to the show. I know we have folks from NZ, OZ, UK, Ireland, various areas of the continent of Europe and every state of the US and province of Canada coming to the show. If you are coming, get on the website, www.bestshowontracks.org and print out your order form and get it and payment in. There is limited seating at the Saturday night dinner so do reserve early.

17 weeks and 5 days to the show. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Gosh, I'd better make my reservations in the Sacramento area as the hotels in the Woodland area are already full, I hear. Besides, it would give me a chance to visit the California Railroad Museum while I am there - a world-class museum that many would be interested in if they knew about it. GWH

Geo. The Calif RXR Museum is down Hwy5 about 15 miles from the Heidrick Ag History Center in Old Town Sacramento and there are some nice hotels in that area near Old Sac and the State Capitol you can drop in and visit Arnie also LOL. You can go to the Western RXR museum between Suisun City and Rio Vista about 30 miles away were they have many working Trains and Street Trollies. If you come early there is so much to see within a hour of Woodland, The San Fransico Bay Area, Napa & Sonoma Valleys, The Gold Country The San Joquin and Sacramento Delta all within 100 mile radius of the show. If you contact the Heidrick Center they have all the info on nearby attractions and they may even know where you can find a Telephone Museum LOL

Hi Tom,
Just bring up the site page and go to the top bar of menu. There in the middle you'll find "Registration" and hit it once. That'll bring up another menu page with the three ticket choices for vendor or viewer. Hit the one you want and order away. I found it wasn't easy to send out the order form on email so printed and faxed it in. Good Luck
Neil
