I just got off the phone with a senior collector from Southern California who will be bringing his beautiful Holt 45, Cat 60 and 30 and 35-70 MTMC prairie tractor to Woodland. If he gets it done, he will also bring his Holt land leveler to the show. I think we will have 3 sizes of Holt land levelers at the show, 6 foot, 8 foot and 10 foot, being pulled by Holt 30, Holt 45 and Holt 75. Pretty cool stuff huh!!

I received a call from a friend who is a truck collector and a member of ATHS inquiring about what trucks can be brought to the Best Show on Tracks. My friend had heard a rumor that only antique trucks powered by Cat engines were included in the show. WRONG!!!
If you have an antique truck and would like to bring it please go to our website and print out an entry form complete it and send it in. If you have an antique truck that will be coming to the show empty and you can haul someone's antique tractor or engine to the show, please post here or get a hold of me. There are lots of collectors that do not have trucks and have no ability to transport their equipment who would be grateful for a ride.
We will have trucks from the teens on up at the show. Several of our show sponsors have nicely restored trucks that they use to advertise their business and we appreciate not only their sponsorship but also their willingness to share their wonderful trucks with us. Botton line, if you have antique tractors, eigines, trucks, implements etc, please bing them. The more the merrier.

It was a beautiful day here in paridise. Heres how our show grounds looked today, on the right side our oats for the demos of cutting and Baling, we are lucky to have a couple diff sizes of the Price Petaluma Haypresses coming to to show you all how the Baling machine worked when it was first invented right here in Calif. On the left is 25 acres of wheat that will suport the 1905 Holt ground power Combine havester being pulled by 26 mules along with the Best 110 Steamer withthe only known Best combine a very impressive duo, a 1929 Holt California Specail Hillside harvester and the horse drawn mowers and binders. 2nd pic is looking from the back of the show grounds to the front 3rd is from east to west but the telephoto makes that 1/2 mile look much closer. The building in the background was 1 of the orig. Best factory building from San Leandro moved here by C.L. many yrs ago inside still has some of orig hosts and machine tools. Your 60 or 30 may have been made in this building.

We are trying to put together another work weekend for the 21st and 22nd of March to get some more tractors up and going. Let Willie know if you are available and we can get some tractors moved to the Wallace ranch in advance.
Willie, who all do you have lined up so far for the next work weekend?

Willie will post a couple of pictures of the Holt Steamer that Don Hunter has been working on for 10 + years. Don will have almost 20,000 hours in No. 111. Don had some prints, but most of the fabrication has been done from old pictures etc. Don started with an original crank shaft from a Holt Wheel engine and then just went to town.
No. 111 is about 14 feet tall to the top of the stack above the canopy (not yet attached), just under 10 feet wide (narrower than the original pads so it can be more easily trucked) and about 24 feet long.
Come to the Best Show on Tracks and see this unbelievable engine operate. The BSOT will be the premier show for No. 111.
Thanks for posting Willie.
