I just talked to Don and he got final clearance from the State inspectors this morning so the new # 111 will be a go for loading in Ontario next Tuesday June 17 for its trip to Woodland where it will be steamed and exhibited at a public forum for the first time. Don is really excited and we are all excited for Don.
Willie says the site is about 1/2 prepped and will be rolled and ready for striping by the weekend. We will start moving tractors into position on Sunday afternoon or Monday.
Lots of people have offered their help for the days leading up to the show and all the help is appreciated. However, we really need help next week to get all of these tractors back into the barns of their owners. If you have a truck and trailer and can help, please let me know so we can do as much between June 23 and June 29 as possible. Lots of folks have been kind enough to allow us to come and get their treasures and we want to be sure they are taken care of and returned as promptly as possible.

If you need a room, I just cancelled my room (I will be staying closer in at Woodland). The info follows:
You can made a reservation for the show in the near-by city of Dunnigan. Reserved a room at the Best Western Country motel. For a single, non-smoking, AAA rate, I was quoted $72 a night including tax. Anyone needing a room may wish to consider this place. Telephone: 530-724-3471.

I am heading out tomorrow morning bound for Woodland and the BSOT. I will be at the grounds for the duration through the show.
The show grounds look subpurb thanks to the hard work of Doug Veerkamp and Glen Ghlotti and their crews. We have had lots of work from other crews but these 2 guys took the bull by the horns and made a wheat field into a show grounds.
I look forward to meeting lots of you guys in the next week. This is going to be lots of fun.
Allen Harris called today and he and his crew got the Holt 120 running today and after a 10 year slumber Allen reports that the old girl runs like a top.
Lots of stuff is coming out of the woodwork and there will be lots of surprises for those of you who are lucky enough to come to the show.

If it works out to fly in for the weekend, would you fly in to Sacramento? Are there motels and rental cars available on the west side of Sacramento?
Thanks, Jim

Tom or Glen or anyone,
Pardon me if this has already been announced, but I was wondering if a roving fuel truck was going to be at the BSOT Show for exhibitors who might want to top off their rigs while there? With all the activities that are planned, I'm guessing a local fuel vendor wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to sell gas and diesel!

If one has been lined up, was a "BSOT specific" $ per gallon rate established so their driver isn't tempted to gouge a "captive audience"?

Thanks!
John

Jim D4&6, plenty of motels/hotels in Sacramento. If you can fly in there, you'll be just fine. GWH
