I'm glad you posted those Gary because I wouldn't have thought to have checked that wear. Interested in coming out for a week to do mine? : )
Ha ha that's funny for a minute there it sounded like you wanted me to work on your track frames!
To be honest I'm about welded out and I'm not even close to done. The frames really arent to bad but the tracks really make you consider a second mortgage to buy new ones.

I did! : ) Yeah, when I considered the options, it was clear that I had less time than money (and I don't have much money so that tells you how little time I have) so I figured that making a new attachment surface for the D3 rollers and buying new chains would more likely result in the job getting done than trying to repair what I had.
If I was retired, the calculation would be different for sure

Ya know that might not be crazy never gonna happen?
I have relatives in north and southern Jersey and maybe a trip to visit might be a good excuse to swing by. Maybe we should exchange contact info if you're serious cause if the timing was right I'd be in

One frame down one to go. Now that I know what to do this one is going a lot faster. Had two holes for the bottom roller mount that had been blasted out with a torch so I cut out the ma/ching piece from my old frame and replaced it. After talking to some friends about welding and refilling the holes it sounded like there could be difficulty that I'm not equipped for so this was easier.
Both frame ends are tweaked one will come back with just the wear replacement the other is gonna need a little more help

Hi Gary, are you going to weld nuts on the inside for the blade mount bolts?

Yes I'm going to weld the nuts on inside the frame, I'm waiting to get the finals on and mock up the blade mounts. I'm planning on completely rebuilding and redesigning my blade set up. I have a straight blade and an angle c frame, not sure which one I'm going with yet.

Got the twisted frame cut and replaced. Looks kinda funky in the picture but its within 1/8 of an inch of the other frames I've measured. I measured the frame rail were Caterpillar put them together and they weren't that close so I'm happy.
