D2 going in the shop

D2 going in the shop was created by d2gary
Finally got the kinks worked out of the D4 so it will it be handling the workload this summer. The D2 has never really had anything done to it just worked to death. It definitely needs some well earned tlc. I have a long list of things to do including, paint, tracks, steering clutches and brakes, various oil leaks, blade repair and anything else I find along the way. Don't want a factory original restoration just a good clean functional tractor.
Got it in the shop but not before it was considerate enough to throw the track 20 feet from the door. Luckily I have a different flavor yellow backhoe to pop the track back on.

Gave the D2 a little bath and started to remove some parts. Even found some yellow paint under all the dirt a d oil!

I think there's something going on with the left side track frame and I'm pretty sure it's not good

That tired old machine has seen it better days! Good Luck with the restoration! Only going to take lots of love and money.
Cat salesman here in days gone by, "Pick up the radiator cap and run a new one under it"

I don't think I can in good faith comment on the radiator cap repair because my wife seems to think I should leave the cap on and drive it away.
I've read a lot on this forum about restoring old cats and I feel like there's nothing that can't be fixed.
I definitely don't have cat certified rebuild pockets but I do have lots of love so we'll see
I also have the luxury of time on this one since I have the D4 running and working
Looks like some of this stuff hasn't been touched in a long time, it should be interesting

My work is never done right by collectors standards but it seems to work ok

I have a set of rails like those!
The bushings are "slightly" better than yours!
Take your time, it'll get done!
