Spend some time trying to accurately align a fixed base mag drill and you will appreciate the advantage of adjustable base.

I got this dozer for $19.5k and ended up paying 450 to get it hauled 65 mi. It was for sale about 4 months. Some used dealer in Michigan still has it advertised all over the place for 10k more than I paid even though they never had possesion of it. I called them and told them to take it down but some of the ads are still up.
Looked over it some today, finals were full of good looking fluid. Trans oil also looked good. Air filters were new. Called Rakesales nearby in Cleveland TX, they told me about 2300 for a 10 foot rake with mounts, Im probably going to go with that .
Then played around with it some here, working good.

My friend Bill came up about 45 min before sunset to try it out. He owns the Deere 550H I had used previously. Also for fun note the pic of my sand soil I have here, its nice drains great and not muddy.

I was running 2 D6Ds and a D6H LGP until 2000 and I had trouble with S.A.L.T. track links going dry after a pin and bushing turn (Yes, even when the turn was done by my Caterpillar dealer). Back then I found that I got the most value by changing sprocket segments every time the sprocket tips were worn to ¼ inch thick and just running the bushings to destruction. The cost of a “wet” pin and bushing turn plus the lost income because of the downtime for the turn was more than the amount I gained with the turn.
Drawbars for your D6C are readily available in salvage yards.
I agree with Deas that ‘dozers handle better with weight added to the rear.
Sorry about the double post last time.
