Hey Team,

I need some help making some Decisions. What should I haul to the "Best of the West" show :eyebrows:... Should I bring a Siamese Twin D8? How about "MaryAnn" a stretch D8-LGP from "Operation Deep Freeze" with Admiral Byrd? Anybody want a DD9g there? How about a D9e pushing a D9d pushing a Cat 660? Any D8's, 36-a's, 14-a's, 13-a? D7, D6, D4's? Scrapers? Dw-21's, Dw-20's, 435-e, 70, 60, 40's? Anybody want Tanks? Any old trucks wanted? How about some chain drive trucks? WW1 trucks? :biggrin1:

Hmmmm? I thought I heard something about a Link Belt LS-51 crane with a drag bucket on it? Seems like a 99E grader is also missing from the list. Will the Mack water truck be ready on time? Just curious.

You have a lot of things to haul if you bring it all! Hats off to you Glen!

Hey Jan,

I started counting. I started multiplying by 700 miles round trip, and figuring fuel mileage. Heck, I'm at around 42,000 miles...

Hi, Glen.
Remember the old Ned Miller song, "Do What You Do Do Well"?

Well, M8, may I suggest that you do what you do do well and bring as much as you want, which, based on past shows, will be HEAPS. Thank you for all that you do for these shows. GREAT stuff.

Just my 0.02

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Folks,

I've been thinking about this "Best of the West Show." From things I'm hearing, it's gonna be a once in a Lifetime Show. I got confirmation from Duane Doyle that he will fly in some of his planes. I asked that he bring his P-51 Mustang, "Red Dog." If it happens, it's a way Cool Plane...:eyebrows:... WOW, the Best's, Holt's, Planes, Trains, Horse and Mule Teams, Cats, Antique Trucks, Army Vehicles, Tanks, and of coarse Special Guest Star Attraction, "The Garlic Clan." MaryAnn along side other Antartic Vehicle/Tractors, and actual hands on people to tell the way it happened. The Siamese Twin D8 on display with Phil, one of the team that put it together, with Duane Doyle, Ed Akin, and I. Duane's DD9g on display and working the Sand Box. Jesse Gilbertson said it's a go with his North West 80. Not sure yet but he might set it up as a Shovel Front. That will be exciting to watch load, Cat 769 and 773 haul trucks, along with a Euclid 49fd model. Other smaller cranes will be working too( one freshly out of paint shop). Many, many Cats and tractors running in a Giant Sand Box... We will have viewing areas for two demonstration areas... One for Big Iron, one for smaller equipment to work safely. I'm excited about the Antique Truck Collection that is going to be there and is growing this year. I haven't been to every show around, but have been and traveled to a few here and there and can vouge for it's name, "The Best of the West Show.":biggrin1:

Hey Glen,

How about a snow generating machine to "sprinkle" all over Mary Ann, just so she will feel like she did when she was where she spent so much of her life and to "REALLY" show folks how she looked "back then" - in the OTHER Down Under land (Sorry Deas, there IS one other "Down Under" you know... :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1:).

Hi, Walt 3TD7.
Twould seem you may be in need ovva bit ovva a geography lesson, M8. There are 'ackshully' FOUR DowNundas, with 2 of them closer to Mary Ann's old haunts than the DowNunda where I live. As well as the DowNunda where I live, Australia, there's also South America, Seff Efrica and the Great White South Land itself.

Then you could also add in those couple of lumps of wrinkly rock just across the Tasman Sea from where I live that seem to be a 'suburb' of OUR DowNunda 'cos most of the 'locals' from there seem to be more local on the Western side of said Tasman Sea these days. Some folks, mostly those born there, seem to want to glorify said lumps of rock as a country on its own named New Zealand, but seems few of them want to 'ackshully LIVE in said country. I can understand that. If the joint ain't trying ter freeze yer to death in the South Island, it's tryin' ter fry yer or boil yer amongst the volcanoes and boiling hot springs and pools on the Mainland. LOL.

'Nuff geography for today. I don't want to overwhelm yer. 'Sides, I might ruffle some kiwi feathers. LOL.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Thanks for the update today Glen. Chad loaded up a 1921 Best 30 that laid apart in a barn in the Salinas Valley for over 40 years until we rescued it a couple years ago and recently went back together "barn fresh" under Chad's expert hands and eyes, a really nice PV 15 wide gauge that came from the Meeder collection and has been serviced and adjusted as needed and a 1910 Aurora 45 power unit that came out of Idaho years ago and has been rebuilt by Chad also in the "barn fresh" configuration. These and lots more a going back together so that your experience in May at the Best of the West is over the top.

By the way, nice job Bill Mancus on the new military tractor in the lineup.
