how Garlic Mom keeps track of her fleet. No reference to the equipment number or serial number. She just identifies them by "You know, the one with the flowers growing in the dump bed." or "Go get that one that has the weeds growing in the seat." or "Remember the one that has all that moss on the hood."

Sometimes it takes me two or three tries to bring her the right machine. Well, I guess at least it isn't easy for the competition to figure out what she's doing and why (Rolling eyes).

You see what I have to deal with?

Pete.

See Neil. That points out a whole other problem with Garlic Mom. I'm sure she would refer to that 36A as "The tractor with the garlic in the toolbox." Only problem is, she doesn't own the tractor. I'm not sure she'd remember that little piece of information though. She gets very confused about points of fact like ownership, especially when she's operated the tractor and likes it.

Just ask Gary from Australia. He brought a really nice D6C with angle blade and winch to our house, intending to clean it up and send it over to the other side. That arrived probably eight or ten years ago now. It hasn't ever left, and Garlic Mom claims ownership now.

I'm telling you, this whole "confused" act is a big problem. I'm not sure if she's crazy, or crazy like a fox. I'm just saying, watch your iron.

Speaking to my adopted mom I would have to say, "Garlic Mom, Pete may be needing another tune up." Maybe you can do one at the show as a special attraction for everyones enjoyment. Well, everyone but Pete. I can bring a Tonka sized switch.:smile::smile:

Garlic Pete== Got a 4 some from the Great Northwest making plans to attend. Got a Farmer, logger-contractor, rock crusher and a dirt stiff. Wanting to know where most of you will be staying. Really enjoyed the good times and visits at Tulare last year. Stayed at Motel 6--never again. I could bring my elk tent and stay under a Eucalyptus tree but then we would smell funny. Like to add our combine expertise to the Big Wood Harris. Also want to clime on that DW 21 once more. Good times, Good people.

old-iron-habit - With friends like you . . . and here I thought we were partners in crime. I thought you were the guy I could sneak out with under cover of darkness and fire up all the nearby equipment to play in the moonlight. Here I find out you're a double agent. Running back to tell Mom all the bad stuff I did and get yourself a piece of peach pie. Huh! I'll have to remember this.

Headerpuncher - ACMOC has a block of rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn Select in Atascadero. That's probably the closest accommodations, maybe a five minute drive from the show. It is definitely about six rungs above Motel 6. Price is a little higher, though. Other options include Best Western and for something really fancy, the Carlton Hotel, all in Atascadero. Just about anything you want is available in San Luis Obispo, a ten minute drive in the other direction. Be sure to make reservations right away. With this being the California Central Coast on Memorial Day weekend, things sell out fast.

ag-mike - Tom Madden will be along soon to provide you with details about California's Gold. It is an engine focused show and is really an outstanding experience. Having the two shows on successive weekends really offers a great opportunity. For anyone who is able to make both shows, you can spend the intervening week at Santa Margarita with us. We'll all be there setting up, preparing the grounds and you'll likely get put to work, but its fun work.

Pete.

The Gold show is an old fashioned invitational show with no ropes so I cannot comment a whole lot. Let me talk to Mark Panzone who is the kingpin and see what protocol is for invited guests. In all liklihood I will have a Holt power unit displayed there and an Aurora power unit displayed there so I may be able to sneak a couple guests in when I run back from SANTA Margarita for a few hours Saturday afternoon/evening.

Headerpuncher, garlic will need to weigh in on the harvester that I do not think will make it.

More Northern iron is coming South. 7upuller brought in another heavy piece today. Things should start ramping up from now through the show.

Hey Garlic, we can still be partners in the quest of all yellow toys. I was just thinking of the times i got spanked as a child and thought it would be great fun to see someone else get it. As a true friend i would still sneak you the salve so you could apply it as needed. Can't hand it to you in the open as I don't want to miss out on the peach pie.
