Mike,

As said earlier, nice load. Will these machines be able to be "seen"? Are they owned by a ACMOC owner?

I am the new caretaker of the rusty iron Mike hauled. Truck is 1926 Walter. They join a collection that is in Southern Sierra mtn area of Ca. We were a bit under equipped on my end to move stuff once it hit the ground but all good adventures.

Funny about that spare time stuff. This stuff as all about too much and any need for more of it. If we had our noses to the grindstone we would not have time to look for such foolishness.
I look at this as putting some good people to work such as haulers Bob & Mike, saving some iron heritage from meltdown; at least under my watch while draining my wallet. Saving to make America great again.

thanks for the additional information and well done on saving America. When you have some spare time can you come over and save Australia from the current ratbags running the country who are stealing our money thru rorting their 'entitlements' - eg., 1.8 million in allowances atop his salary for one politician over 4 years!!

Anyhow, that truck is really neat and I am guessing it is a former snow plough?

The RB is cool too - I rode on one drag lining a UK drainage ditch when I was 10 years old. I think it had a Paxton diesel with no silencers. Anyway it sounded really good. The operator used to wind it up when slewing back and sling the bucket across to the other side of the ditch. He knew exactly what he was doing although at times I thought it was going to fall off the berm aside the ditch which was 2-3 metres high.

Ah heck. I thought that since it was on Mike's truck you guys would just take a little detour to the national at Edgerton so we could all see them.

Mike's leg was to pick up in Las Vegas. I had Bob of Wisco Motorsports do the Vermont to Vegas long haul. I'm finding CARB is killing carriers into CA.

I have been referred to this site in respect to the Rogers trailer. I have from a series of photos and a bit of guess work completed a draft of the trailer. I wish to use it to make a model of the trailer and would appreciate a contact with the owner to confirm dimensions and I hope you can help. It reads as if you know him. The dimension of the deck shown is a total guess but the Caterpillar Ten shown is to scale. I included the Caterpillar Ten as I do not have a drawing of the 60 to include. I trust you can help,
oneless

I do well remember you, Carrara. If I can't have it, I'm glad someone who appreciates it has that trailer. That is a neat story about getting it home, too. I'm glad you only had to go seven miles. I wouldn't have wanted to go any further with all that being pulled by your poor F250.

Having seen one of those trailers in person, I think it wouldn't hardly have noticed a 13A D8 on its back! The closest thing I've seen to that trailer is a bridge beam!

Does your trailer still have the cable lift mechanism for the rear wheels? There was one at Carthage two years ago, but its axles had been welded up and all that was left was the cable sheaves and stuff. I couldn't quite visualize how the lift would work. It did still have the very elaborate hand winch up on the neck. Here are some photos of that one. Hooked up to the Sterling with the Sixty on the back (chocked with railroad track, no less!) it looked like it was in its element.

Pete.

oneless - cararra and I have corresponded on here several times, but I've never met him. He lives on the East Coast and I live on the West Coast. He has a trailer like the one in the pictures I posted. chriscokid, who also posts here regularly, knows the owner and is relatively near to the trailer in the pictures I posted. It is also on the East Coast at Ederville in North Carolina.

cararra hasn't posted on here for a while. Hopefully he still reads and will reply. chriscokid is on here all the time. Hopefully he'll see this and I'm sure if he does, he can probably help you with dimensions, detail photos and other information to help you make the model.

Be sure to post your progress here. We'll all like following along and would like to see the model in person at a show sometime.

Pete.
