Hands off, STEPHEN! I saw it first!

That is exactly what I thought when I saw it. I'd love to have that lowboy. Wonder if it might be acquirable and if Oil Slick could hook me up. That would sure look good hooked up to Garlic Mom's 1914 White Five Ton Truck. Load a Five Ton or a Ten Ton on there and it would be perfect.

Pete.

Hi, Garlic Pete.
AHA!!!!!!!!!!! AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A plot to slow GM down which stands SOME chance of being successful. Looking at the gooseneck on that float makes me think that the gooseneck would be ALL the poor old White could carry. Put a 10-ton on there and I reckon that WOULD slow GM down. LOL.

On the other hand, she may just tell you, "You put it on there. YOU drive it."

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Deas, now you're getting the idea. If I could get the White 5 ton (18 mph top speed in fourth gear, probably weighs 18,000 pounds empty, hard rubber tires, etc.) hooked up to that float (hard rubber tires, probably weighs 15,000 pounds) loaded with the Cat Sixty or a Ten Ton (another 20,000 pounds), she could slip the clutch and get'er rolling in first gear and that'd be all she could do.

She'd happily poke along, engine screaming, things rattling and could work the several turn signal, flash the lights and feel like she was really doing something. This would so occupy her attention hat I could probably get several hours of unsupervised time for my own enterprises. As it is now, I don't get a moment without supervision, advise, redirection and many judicious applications of attitude adjustment sticks to the head, when necessary.

Hey GarlicPete,

I'm finally figuring things out here. I thought all along that your Handle of Garlic Pete was dealing with in the Garlic industry. Now I realize it's from your Garlic Bulb impressions on your head from the" Judicious Applications of the Attitude Adjustment Stick to The Head" ... Roflmao

Hello Garlic Pete,

The trailer isn't for sale, sorry!!! I am not sure if you remember me but a while back i had some issues with finding a gear for the charge pump on my D5. You told me that you had one off of an RD-4.

She is a 6 GNL-20 Rogers, You guys are close 19,000 empty. I bought it in NY and had is shipped to a friends shop to unload. I then loaded it with shovel booms and other stuff adding another 10,000. Then decided to haul it home with my F250, as it has the jeep dolly front axel. Well,,,,, all i could get was 17mph out of her on my 7 mile trek home,,,, she was Wobbly going down the road!!! The farmer i bought it from used it to pull his 13A D-8 behind a Stiger tractor from field to field.

Thanks
Dana

I do well remember you, Carrara. If I can't have it, I'm glad someone who appreciates it has that trailer. That is a neat story about getting it home, too. I'm glad you only had to go seven miles. I wouldn't have wanted to go any further with all that being pulled by your poor F250.

Having seen one of those trailers in person, I think it wouldn't hardly have noticed a 13A D8 on its back! The closest thing I've seen to that trailer is a bridge beam!

Does your trailer still have the cable lift mechanism for the rear wheels? There was one at Carthage two years ago, but its axles had been welded up and all that was left was the cable sheaves and stuff. I couldn't quite visualize how the lift would work. It did still have the very elaborate hand winch up on the neck. Here are some photos of that one. Hooked up to the Sterling with the Sixty on the back (chocked with railroad track, no less!) it looked like it was in its element.

Pete.

Well Pete as per Normal I have learnt something new again today I have never seen or heard of a float like that before I dont think it would be very smooth riding
Do you think todays Sterlings will look as good when they are the same age

I wonder if those Rogers Bros were related to the Rogers of Rogers Locomotive Works in Paterson NJ

Hello Garlic Pete!!!

Thanks for the pictures they are great, unfortunately don't have the very cool "Rogers bothers" plack on my trailer,,,, that thing is way cool. I don't have a cable lift on the back, it still has the cable braking system that has the brakeman's wheel on the front driver side that attaches to the rear wheels for brakes. How would you like that job???? having a chain drive AC Mack pulling you with a huge load on the trailer going down a steep hill? Actually sounds far cooler than my present job, and safer too!!!! IT has the side loading feature to be able to put planks to the side rails and load cross ways. I like the Jeep dolly so it can just sit there and not have to be jacked up. I have to fix the back of the trailer the rear c channel was ripped off. I am making this mammoth C-frame rivet press to hot rivet some of the components then air hammer it on to the back.

Thanks
Dana
