well i finally got onto the break adjuster repair it took me a few hours to get the broken adjuster out
im in the middle of repairing it now .carter keys and frozen pins were the most difficult
i need to figure out how to weld some b7 threaded rod to the pin sleeve and make it stay
there is alot of pressure on that rod when the brakes are applied.
the brake band looks new except for the rust and grease lol
thanks old magnet for the parts diagrams and the info on the inspection plate on the bottom
that was a life saver i can reach all parts from there
this thing may be back in action this week!!!!
ill get some pics just for fun

ill get on it in the morning if any one has any better ideas on how to make this adapter please share
i plan on cutting the pin eye off then welding the b7 threaded rod to it. i may even sharpen both pieces to a point
then weld them for a better and more full weld
thx all\

You will need full penetration weld on that joint!
Taper, Align, Clamp, then weld at the lowest amps you can to keep the heat down in the parts.
Weld one side, then disassemble from alignment jig, grind smooth, flip over, putting it back in alignment jig, clamp it flat, weld second side.
HAZ will be your enemy as the Weld joint may hold but the Steel will rip in the Heat Affected Zone surrounding the Weld.

i checked off road equipment in Tennessee they had the part listed but none in stock
i didnt check the other 2 places
i did however fab a rod up last night and got it installed
i took my time and tried to weld it complete so there was no inclusions in the weld
i think it will be ok as i didn't brake it with brake pedal pressure
it took a 1/2 inch ratchet and a 3 foot cheater bar .
ill keep thoes sites as reference tho in case i brake it again
thanks all

Looks good!
If it didn't break twisting the nut on, then pulling on it with the brake pedal should not break it!

id like to thank everybody that took an interest in this .
these machines are hardcore and built to last but with limited knowledge of
how there put together for me creates a small learning curve.
they are very well designed and thought out for there age and i can see why
they last so long and still operate and do the work
i have worked on alot of machines and most are not half the machine this old cat is .
in closing id like to thank Old Magnet for his insite and help on diagrams/prints of the things i have been working on
he has been key in making this machine operate again
im sure ill need some help again in the future. i do plan on keeping this machine
thx all
