Mike, don't bolt it up without a coupling as Colin suggests. The spline coupling will allow for miss alinement and belt changing. You neighbor is never paid his worth! Dig deep.

It will be interesting to see the actual coupling and figure out how to allow for some flex, my old RD4 Vickers pump is driven by a small rubber block riding between 2 hubs, that works well, problem is there is little or no room for such a set up if using those #41 and #44 pumps?
Thanks
Mike

Hey Mike, my nephew is getting married to a really nice girl from Wangaratta next April. If by some miracle I'm able to go, I'd be keen in stopping by Echuca.
Cheers,
Neil

You are welcome anytime Neil, April is the perfect time to visit, Wangaratta is a really nice area, there is usually something on here in Echuca too most weeks with the paddle steamers , music, food and wine.

Here are a couple of photos of the D4 setup. That pulley adaptor would be expensive to make as a one off. It is a split pulley bolted together. The front half has an internal gear machined into it. There is a cap with a seal fits over it to hold grease in and dirt out.
The rubber cross flex coupling is a view under our D2. This has driven the hydraulic pump for 45 years with only one rubber cross replacement that I can remember. Not very convenient to change the fan belt but how often do you do that?
