Hi, dfelct1.
If you make it to Margarita. there's one guy who'll be there and from whom you need to steer well clear. He usually hides inside a bright lime-colored Hi-viz shirt. He's bad news six days a week and worse on Sundays.

Rumor has it that he'll be there all 4 days - - - and all 4 nights. He is apparently part of the furniture on the ranch.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi, dflect1.
Be careful. He may be hiding in some machine in the sand pit just waiting to ambush somebody.

The case seal made of fiber material or cork is very expensive; an alternate someone tried was rubber rope, same stuff used for making snubbers for a truck tarp.
Just trying to help you save a lot of money for so little stuff.
Hope to see you at SM too. JM

Hi Dflect1,
The seal 3b889 is a 3/8 by 3/8 cork gasket about 3 feet long, 2 required, and the price is well overpriced, so I used a piece of 8mm round nitrel cord about 2m long and cut it to length. You have to use a glue compound to stick it to the lid before installation of the cover.

Regards

Daryl

nitrile oring material would probably work very well. and a few dabs of tarzans grip or bears contact adhesive would work just nicely to hold it in place. you could also use a few dabs of super rtv silicone to do it too. most bearing joints and good industrial suppliers will have it by the metre/yard

Perhaps this square o ring material from McMaster Carr would work.

yes that would be ideal. and being 3/8 size you might be able to just press it into the groove and it stay there once smeared with a little oring lube or grease
