That's why a picture would help to identify.....most likely is the D315 engine.

Hey Old Magnet & gang... I finally got a chance to post some pictures of the combustion chamber and retaining nut from the ol' 955. Maybe this will clear up some questions. I threw in a pic of the ol' gal also! Check this out!

It's after the fact now but that is a 955C of 1955 vintage with D315 engine and you have the late style one piece glow plug pre-combustion chambers.

So it's safe to say that these pre comb. chambers have been changed out at sometime and are not the original parts, correct?:)

That is correct, those are not the original style that had a separate combustion chamber and separate retainer plus the splined nut. They are probably after market units.

OM those are a replacement or update that Cat came out with and on some engines were a changed number and replaced the old ones when a new one was needed. Cat was so good with changing part numbers all the time rom what they were in the book.
