Have a look at the Carter P4601-HP electric vane pump. 12v 9.5-16psi output. Do not run dry.
If your looking for a high amperage alternator that direct drive unit does not put out high amperage, mainly for keeping battery charged although the fuel pump runs on pretty low amperage.

#1 Can I download short video, 48.4 MB?
#2 Anyone  have any ideas about who sells alternator kits for D6 9U?
#3 If In put 60psi. electric fuel pump on is that too much pressure?

to answer some of your questions 60psi is too much best to rekit the lift pump parts are available from cat dealers if you have a parts book for your machine they can cross match most parts. 10 psi would be sufficient its volume not pressure thats needed the injector pump itself then provides the pressure. any good diesel injector service should be able to put a kit in the pump for you if your not comfortable to do it or dont have the tools.
as for conversion parts try:

remember this isnt like a car where the alternator has to power all the electrical systems and charge a battery. so a slow 10 amp charge would work just fine. also your not stopping and starting every 10 minutes either.
the slower the charge the better for battery life a ideal according to CSIRO research is too match the charge in amps to the number of plates the battery has so 10 plate battery 8 to 10 amps is a good charge rate.

there is a couple of mobs that do alternator conversions for these old things. one i have seen on the forum is to gut the original generator and use it as a drive adapter to belt drive a alternator that is mounted above the generator.
