When you get all the right pieces together here's what you need to install. This is different from early instructions in that I've found the China unit castings are to thin to grind for wrench fit. By using a 5/8 x 1-3/4 NC button head cap screw with cut down 3/8 allen wrench no grinding is required. Put the cap screw in the Drive End Housing first then mount to the lever housing. Pictures attached.

Hello group,
This has probably been asked before but couldn't find it (easily). For people that have done all the current road work (as of 2020) what are the best parts and procedures for putting on an electric starter? My pony is working fine, but I want to keep it for cold weather starting and use electric for general use.
Could you guys help me with this?
I use this dozer so keeping it original is not important to me.

Thank you all in advance!

The post pretty much describes what's needed for the 9U, what specific questions do you have?

Hi Vic,
that's great news. Did it start easily and what was the ambient temperature? If it gets cold where you are, coolant heaters you can plug into an outlet are useful. By the way, for the missing pictures above, I wrote up a small guide in this thread (www.acmoc.org/bb/discussion-d72/27700-test-neil-1#225950) about halfway down that describes the steps. The step to not miss is the one where you click the "Insert" button. The upload just puts the pictures on the server, but you also need to insert them into the actual thread. I think the reason the software is set up like that is so that you can use the same pictures in different threads.

Cheers,
Neil

Neil, Thanks for picture lesson now I need to figure out how to upload them like Old Magnet does where there smaller and you can click on them to make them bigger is doesn't take up so much space. Again there's no way I could have done any of this without ACMOC and Old Mqagnet's guidance. Thank You so much!    Vic    To answer your question when I finally got to start it was last fall the temperature was around 70F.

What was the reasoning for going 12v? Surely it must get cold enough in Eastern Iowa to warrent 24v and glow plugs. Otherwise nice installation.
