Neil I had to use heat on the outer drum but it popped right off. I had the puller like the one shown in the SRB. I will try to remember to take pictures tomorrow.

It is all apart but the steering clutch pack. I have to make something to compress the springs

I made this a long time ago!
Seen as you have all the parts out, you can turn the brake drum up and reassemble all the pieces inside of it to re-align the clutch plate teeth!

I started to put my D2 back together but found another problem. The bearing and pin in the bellcrank that releases the steering clutch is shot. They are no longer available from Cat. I have a few calls out there but no response yet. If any one has these parts for sale? 5b-1634 crank,4b-4496 pin and 4b5353 bearing

Florin Tractor in Sacramento, Ca has a 5B-1634 Crank. PH#(916)383-0317. Advanced Machinery Parts in Georgia has a 4B-5353 Bearing PH#(855)876-0804 and Industrial Parts and Equip. in Canada has one also. PH#(306)522-5332.

Chuck, I'd ditch that roller bearing system. I had the same problem, what I did is turn a new pin and drilled it for grease from the top( if you ever take the cover plate off). I used a bronze bearing in the arm. My arm was so worn that I bored it to clean up, but just as easily could have used JB Weld in the grooves. The problem with the oem system is that the top of the case there gets condensation and the bearing doesn't get lubed. Haven't had any trouble
