These pictures are courtesy of Allan and Ruby Lerfald. Allan and his brother Luther inherited, preserved and ultimately sold the Caterpillar No. 60 Elevating Grader to the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee.
Allan and Ruby came out to the show this year to see the grader and play with us. Allan did a lot of work repairing and keeping things running and, as you’ll see in the pictures, got to play in the pit on a number of things, including the Elevating Grader.
We all really enjoyed getting to know them over the weekend and playing together.
A very nice Holt Midget. I believe there are only about a dozen of these left. If I’m not mistaken, this one was a recent barn find (or actually backyard yard art find).
A Holt Sixty planker, if I’m not mistaken.
A good friend’s Rumley, International and Avery.
Allan making his first inspection of the Mucker (Caterpillar 60 Elevating Grader) before we even pulled it out of the weeds this year.
A nice shot of the lineup.
7upuller starting up the SxS D8. There is just something about the dark day, the smoke chuffing in this picture and Glen working with his jacket on.
A few of our tractors with the colors flying. In the lineup here are the D4 6U from Pomeroy, a 2H D6 with turbocharger (normalizer), Garlic Mom’s 9G D7, and our 14A D8.
A few more lineup shots, this time of the “Historic” area.
A shot of the ACMOC tent with the nice rarities displayed in the front. If I’m not mistaken, those four visible were courtesy of WyoCat, Chad Enyert. His restorations are top quality and these are among his finest examples. He’s one of the few guys I’ve seen who has special brackets made which bolt to the track pads for tying down so as not to mar the paint on the track pads.
This Dodge car/pickup conversion was donated by the Camzouso Ranch to the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee. Mike had it running the afternoon it was picked up and it runs like a top now.
Looks like 7upuller got the SxS D8 started and warmed up, then swung by and picked up Garlic Mom for a spin in the parade.
It is Friday morning and stuff is still pouring in. Here is Joel with the really neat Fairbanks Morse diesel, also donated by the Camzouso Ranch to the Pioneer Day Committee and four more of the Veerkamp’s over a dozen coming in.
Here’s Ruby trying out the Tonka (Caterpillar 769).
Here’s Skinner’s truck (Jon Mark Horta), two of the Perusina trucks (putting ours to shame) and Lester Bettencourt’s.
And the Veerkamps, plus one.
7upuller’s Brother’s favorite crane, ready to work.
Holt Seventy Five and some information.
Overview of the Ranch and show grounds.
Here is Silas, showing me the finer points of DW-21 operation.
Mike McGinty’s brother (sorry, I didn’t remember your name) on the 14A and 435, with New Mexico pushcat backing up to load him.
The 660 being double push loaded, Garlic Emily and Meghan passing behind.
