That toolbox signed by Best and Holt is just great. Guy said he clear-coated it to last. Cool that he kept it on a working tractor too.

Cheers,

Replied by janmeermans on topic Why?
Erik,

You have done it again. This happens every show. I don't know why I even bothered to take pictures with my camera. Those are fantastic shots Erik. Thanks for posting and taking the time to take them in the first place.

I finally had some time to put together some of the pictures from the show. I didn’t take hardly any myself, I was too busy having fun. Garlic Emily, her friend Meghan, Garlic Mom and a couple of friends were kind enough to share some of theirs.

Garlic Emily and her friend Meghan spent some time working the Diesel Seventy Five and Wooldridge on Saturday.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the show. Emily is intensely focused on the task at hand, Meghan is watching closely, the DD9G with 7upuller and Duane Doyle is passing right behind, the clamshell has just dumped in the 769 in the background. This picture has it all.

The girls had a little trouble dumping. I think the lift clutch was slipping, so with a heavy load, the bowl kept dropping. I had to try to get her started on the stockpile.

This next photo is another of my favorites. Emily and Meghan are looking and smiling, the Shandel boys are going by on the DW10 in the background, with the observer watching. The ACMOC flag is just visible in the top of the frame and all the show action is going in the background. This really captures the spirit of the show for me.

I like in this next series how you can watch the clamshell dump into the 769, too.

Garlic Mom and Garlic Emily used the 769 to deliver some garlic and give some kids a ride.

These pictures are courtesy of Allan and Ruby Lerfald. Allan and his brother Luther inherited, preserved and ultimately sold the Caterpillar No. 60 Elevating Grader to the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee.

Allan and Ruby came out to the show this year to see the grader and play with us. Allan did a lot of work repairing and keeping things running and, as you’ll see in the pictures, got to play in the pit on a number of things, including the Elevating Grader.

We all really enjoyed getting to know them over the weekend and playing together.

File Attachment:

A very nice Holt Midget. I believe there are only about a dozen of these left. If I’m not mistaken, this one was a recent barn find (or actually backyard yard art find).

File Attachment:

A Holt Sixty planker, if I’m not mistaken.

A good friend’s Rumley, International and Avery.

Allan making his first inspection of the Mucker (Caterpillar 60 Elevating Grader) before we even pulled it out of the weeds this year.

File Attachment:

A nice shot of the lineup.

File Attachment:

7upuller starting up the SxS D8. There is just something about the dark day, the smoke chuffing in this picture and Glen working with his jacket on.

File Attachment:

A few of our tractors with the colors flying. In the lineup here are the D4 6U from Pomeroy, a 2H D6 with turbocharger (normalizer), Garlic Mom’s 9G D7, and our 14A D8.

File Attachment:

A few more lineup shots, this time of the “Historic” area.

File Attachment:

A shot of the ACMOC tent with the nice rarities displayed in the front. If I’m not mistaken, those four visible were courtesy of WyoCat, Chad Enyert. His restorations are top quality and these are among his finest examples. He’s one of the few guys I’ve seen who has special brackets made which bolt to the track pads for tying down so as not to mar the paint on the track pads.

File Attachment:

This Dodge car/pickup conversion was donated by the Camzouso Ranch to the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee. Mike had it running the afternoon it was picked up and it runs like a top now.

File Attachment:

Looks like 7upuller got the SxS D8 started and warmed up, then swung by and picked up Garlic Mom for a spin in the parade.

File Attachment:

It is Friday morning and stuff is still pouring in. Here is Joel with the really neat Fairbanks Morse diesel, also donated by the Camzouso Ranch to the Pioneer Day Committee and four more of the Veerkamp’s over a dozen coming in.

Saturday, Allan Lerfald (on the RD6), jbernd, Crawler Dollars Ray Mattesich and I had a chance to get the No. 60 Elevating Grader out, along with Joe Romanini’s RD-6 and really see what it could do.

We made a few rounds, but were only getting a bit of dirt up onto the belt. We determined that some adjustments were in order, so we brought the Jeep and Jeep trailer over with the tools.

File Attachment:

It looked like the disk was too far from the belt, so we worked on adjusting the disk frame up closer.

After the adjustments, Allan and crew had that mucker filling the belt.

Allan was keen to run a D8, so he checked out Arlie.

Trish Walker was kind enough to spend the time to photograph almost all the mechanical attendees. She said she may have missed a few who came in on Saturday, but thinks she got most of them.

By my count, this is 415 photos, nearly each one of a unique piece of equipment.

Thanks for taking the time, Trish.

We could try something fun with these pictures. If you hover over the picture or click the link, you should be able to see the entire link and filename. It will be a lot of random numbers and letters, but in two places, there should be the phrase “IMG_XXXX”, where the “XXXX” is a four digit number. For example, the first photo below is number 1868.

If you see a photo of your tractor here, post the photo number and tell us about it. I’ll edit your post and add in Trish’s photo and you can add photos of your own, if you like.

If you see something interesting and would like to know more about it, post the photo number and your questions and I’ll tell you what I know or find out more information for you.

Pete.
