:usa2::Glad to hear you got some yellow iron out by the road! I was passing though Santa Margirita last week and missed seeing the iron and signs out on 101. Looking forward to the show it won't be long now!!!

Hey Team,

Crews loaded some Cats to head to The Best of the West Show.

And other crews got some detailing done

While other crews where busy in the shop getting some Antique Trucks Ready. Got three projects currently in the bays, a Dodge Brothers Huckster that has been road tested and now installing tail lights, blinkers, and some mirrors(I intent to use this regularly to run around town, so modern signals important to me). There is a Chicago Motor Truck 3 ton. The engine got running, rebuilt the water pump and mag. Rebuilt the clutch. Pulled the tranny to do the bearings and seals. Pulled the wheels and they are doing re-lining the brakes. Pulled the axles and found both axles broken, repaired crudely and that old repair rejected. I'll have to make new axles for this girl. Got the AB Mack gin pole truck started... brakes pulled and getting re-lined, mag pulled apart and rebuilding. Carb pulled apart. I have worked out a gin pole design and we will get that started next week. The other AB Mack Dump the tires have been ordered and on the way. The 1916 fruehauf trailer the bed is made. I'll get it stained next week. The frame is at the powder coater getting painted. We will install the bed once it's back. The wheels got the Rubber Vulcanized on already. This unit will be towed behind a 1917 White 3 ton Chain Drive that we got going a month ago. Pintle hitch ready and waiting. I'll stain the bed on this truck while we do the trailer. The Mack Water truck is down to its final stages. The wheel color got rejected. The Cat yellow color wasn't... it'll be right. The tank is done and on. The cab and body done. The interior done. Trim on. Just wheels and some details and it should be ready in a week or two. The crews are busy... I have 5 more trucks to get in and going by Show time... the Oshkosh, "Old Yeller" is done... its a Bad Ass...

Hey Tom,
About the wife and kid statement, you've got to have them to understand! It's not Familiar Territory for him... :tape2:

Then there's that D8 36A with the U-Blade (which I am naming "Neil's ride"-droll, droll) to pick up way down in Needles CA. How will he ever get all this done?

The Link-Belt looks fabulous! So much so, it maybe should become a static display! But the dust will settle on it quickly so heh, why not dig with it and get it dirty. Can't wait to go round and round.

All the while I am trying to find time to work on my TWENTY. He puts me to shame.

Hi, Glen.
Lookin' good. I have always liked the looks of those Oskosh trucks from the first time I ever saw one. That forward-sloping windscreen did it for me - made much more sense in a country like DowNunda with the sun beating down so much of the year. I also like the nose shape and the front axle placement. Sadly, I think I have only ever seen about 2 of them DowNunda.

Hi, JanM.
Don't be put to shame. Look at the comparative work force sizes - and remember the old Ned Miller song, "Do What Yo Do Do Well."

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

That's a very nice looking Oshkosh Glen. Always partial to off-road units. What're the specs on it? Had a few in the old country that various loggers imported, but the ones I saw were tandem drive 120# units as I recall, never saw a 4x4 there. Looks like it could just about pull a disc combination around the field...

Cheers,
Neil

Hey Team,

My crew was after it today... they got up early and hit the road, hammered down on 275 miles and hit the Ranch Show Grounds by 7:30 am. The guys got unloaded and cruised it back home. Heck, they were early, so the boss took one of them another 30 miles north and loaded up two Old Trucks. We loaded Tom Madden's Oshkosh and my 1952 KW. It'll be at the Show grounds at 8am...

Heck... things are going so well, I might have to take a Vacation to Hawaii... oh wait a minute!!!...:D... Maybe I should go get the Oahu Cat! :fish2: Hmmmm, thinking with a light bulb on!!! Now that's a challenge...

Neil, your 36a is awaiting you, so is "Old Yeller!"

Jan,
I'm on a mission tomorrow to find a perfect Toy for you...:bounce:

Hey Team,
I talked with Duane Doyle today. He is anxious for the show. I interrupted him working on a Corsair Plane. :music:... He informed me that he wants to go get Ed Akin and fly him down in a P51. Talk about service! Wow... We talked about shipping the DD9g, and the Siamese Twin D8. This is gonna be an Awesome Show.:usa2:
