Congrats. .sounds like you're getting there. All these old critters are fun, specially when someone else has been in 'em. .ya never know what they did, or didn't do over the years.

Hi Dudly, and others,
a word of advice at this time for any one with a D2, Wide or Narrow gauge, is NOT to work them without the engine side panels installed. Here in OZ the transfer pumps and accessory drive housings are all but unobtainable from so many having been smashed by a track coming off and tearing things to pieces. The tin panel at least deflects the errant track enough to save the pump etc.--stops the grousers catching the parts in danger.
Used to get many enquiries at the Dealer for these parts.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Your blade attachment points look nothing like mine.
I have been told that the blade was from a HOLT crawler.

I don't know if anyone in the know here can confirm this but this pic shows how the blade attaches to the tractor.

Ill try to find a picture of the blade attached to the tractor.

Hey gang.

IT's HERE!
D2 (duh) 5U7873
Year ??? Thanks

I need someone to tell me the type/manufacturer of the blade system.

Many things to do.

biggest thing I need is a grill radiator guard assy.

I have about everything that seems to be missing. I Think.

Thanks in advance for all and any help.
I have all the manuals and an operators manual.
I will try to keep them to intelligent questions.

Cheers
Dudley

et al,
Thanks for the kind notes.

OZ
Thanks for the warning.
I am missing the side sheets.
I am planning on having a pair fabbed locally. (no shipping)
Could someone kindly measure the thickness of theirs and let me know.
That way I can get them made.

Thanks
Dudley:D

I am wondering what size and brand of tires along with air pressure that you have in those trailer tires? I blew one out on a double axle in Michigan and bulged the spare by the time I got home. I need a better brand as I have the same rims as you.
Thanks!

Drujinin,
Tires are Duro brand 7x14.5 They are the original ones for this 1991 trailer.
they are starting to dry crack. So I am going to change them.
I will probably upgrade slightly if the rim width is ok. to 8x14.5 They are heavier load rating. IIRC the others max out at 10k total . I had
11k on the trailer. 12k but 1k on the hitch. pulled like a dream.
Tire pressures 80 psi. tire rated to 70psi.
Duro brand is still available.

How do you get three hands in the clutch hole???
Hold pin out.
Hold plate with holes.
try to spin pressure plate.

I am going to try a clothes pin to hold the pin out.
As for the other two. HMMMM:confused:
Maybe need second person.
Clutch currently too tight.

Got hoses replaced today.
Greased all the normal fittings today.
Need to oil some cups tomorrow.
Need to get roller lube and fitting.

Thanks to everybody.

Hey gang,
Well after turning wrenches and general maintenance on the crawler.
I have come to the following problem:mad:
Left side steering clutch is stuck. :( :(
Right side brake pedal gets stuck on apply. :(
Both lift cylinders leak.
BUT
I did drive it:D :D
All gears work.:)
Brakes both sides work.:)
did not try the winch.
Started well at about half throttle.
Need to figure out where the low idle stop is. I cannot detect by cycling the throttle stop and end up turning the engine off. Dang it.
(means getting the battery hooked up again) (I take it off the track after starting the crawler (8D Battery))
Engine still smokes. Perhaps changing the oil will fix that.
No tight spots in the chains.
Hydraulics work well. Got the problem hose replaced.
I suspect I was smiling while driving it. Makes a minor challenge with only one direction to steer.

OH yeah
I will need at least a Master Pin. (some goof ball welded mine in the chain).
A suggestion or two on good D2 parts suppliers would be appreciated.

Next project get the Pony motor installed and parts picked up around here.
Then the dreaded Left Steering clutch assy.

Oh well
Not like I needed to make a living with it.
Thanks
Dudley
