I need someone to tell me the type/manufacturer of the blade system.

Many things to do.

biggest thing I need is a grill radiator guard assy.

I have about everything that seems to be missing. I Think.


Thanks in advance for all and any help.
I have all the manuals and an operators manual.
I will try to keep them to intelligent questions.

The blade you have is a cat 2A .
I think that you will find a 1 infront of the 7 on the ser # later tractor. 1956
! would kill for that thing.(later style).

That is the early style Cat angle blade.

Hurry, run out and comfirm that ser # I will bet it's 17873. you lucky dog you.It's even got a winch.It probably runs great, steers like new,right I don't even want to know how much you gave for it. I have been looking for one of those for the last 3 year's. So when you get sick of it, let me know.

thanks for the info,

Too dark:mad: to see numbers behind the winch:D
I have some wrenching to do yet.
install pony motor, dash and misc,
maybe the electric starter PO bought,
Bleed fuel system, PO ran it out and could not reprime it.
PO lost interest in project.
I hope to at least have it running by the weekend.

Supposedly one stuck steering clutch, but they are supposed to be new, hopefully the brake bands were done then also....

Rolls well, was easy to load.
Weighs 10,300 a bit from the 7,000 in the book,
Hauled it 150 miles to home on a new to me trailer with my 96 GMC K3500.

Price well I am happy and so was the seller.
we shall see in the long run,

Congrats, looks like you got yourself a real nice tractor. I'm sure you'll have it up and running in no time. With a little luck the stuck clutch will break loose as soon as you put a little load on it.

Hope she fires up for you, and take some more pics when it does.

Hmmm, it does look like some parts off a late model D2. Compressor spotted some. It looks like the larger seat fuel tank and the flat plate fenders are dead give aways to a late model, but the roller spacing looks close, like that of an earlier U series D2. Regardless, a nice straight looking machine with all the goodies. Have fun.

You spotted the seat and fenders also.Could be a take two and make one unit.

Question you will know.
The differnce between late model and early model 2A blades assm. One is longer or what.I know you sold one here awhile back.

Comp, I recall the issue was raised, but the blade assembly I sold was off a late model D2, thus if it is longer, it would have accomodated either early or late variants. The track frame PN's are way different from early to mid to late model U series. I recall somebody offering that the blade assembly is the same length, just the blade mount is moved forward on the longer track frame of the later D2. When I look at the diagrams drawn in the parts manuals, the bolt holes appear to be further forward as suggested. Sorry I cannot be of more assistance to you.
