You could try changing the filter media or even remove the vent filter completely to see if the bowl fills. Where I have needed a filtered vent I have used these. I have also had trouble with those viton tipped float needles sticking. Not really enough gravity flow pressure to open if they want to hang up.

The bowl is filling, the fuel is just not making it into the cylinders.

I will try it without the filter in the vent after I let it soak overnight again.

Thanks

If the bowl is filling and the float valve is working than these are not your issue.

Old magnet are you saying that if the bowl is filling (which it is) then it's not my float which is new as well as new needle and seat

Or are you saying its not the vent if the bowl is filling?

Thanks

I'm saying that neither the float valve nor your "shower head" vent is the problem if the float chamber is filling and shutting off at the correct level.

Any other thoughts or suggestions? Before I put it back together tomorrow? My plan is to blow out everything well and leave the wool out of the vent. Use some aviation gasket sealant on the base gasket to make sure there are no leaks.

Thanks again.

There is a lot more to these carbs than one might think. Here is some general info. If you can pin your problem/s down to a specific system I can provide more info.

After looking at my carb vs. the drawing my load adjusting needle has no point on it just a hole in the end and another on the side about an 1/8th of an inch up. Not sure if it had one and broke or fell off or was designed not to have one. But might make sense why I cant get it to run. After looking further at the drawing and my carb I don't think they are the same model carb. My main jet I Believe comes in at an angle with a plug that you use a 1/2" wrench to remove the plug then a screwdriver to remove the jet from the bottom of the bowl. The plot thickens.........

I'd have to go look to see what the needle looks like on the early carb but it should look something like the ones on the later versions.

I dug up the parts diagram for the 9Kxxxx grader carb and it shows the internal vent passage that we discussed. The shower head is just an overflow which could be plugged if you wish.

Correction, I actually do have a picture of the main jet for the early carb and it looks like what you describe.

I don't have a pin with a spring on it in my carb like the first picture you uploaded.

Am I missing something or is that from a different model?

The second drawing you just uploaded looks like my carb.

Thank you very much for your time and effort.
