I think I will look for an import wench, the local ones just are all past it. The imports seem to be less of a problem as GP listed. So I will look for a late model wench, with all the latest improvements and modern stiles I think but I need to look out for old wenchs that are tarted up!

I found it very important when selecting a wench to make sure it was just not a very glossy paint job. Take off some of the inspection covers and take a close look at the mechanicals, need to check to see if there has been any panel beating and/or body fillers to cover up damage from use/over use. It is incredible the length some marketers will go to to make an old model wench look new and un used.

Yes i had one of those old wenchs and i must say it cost me a lot of coin to keep it, so i had to pass it on to someone else who had a lot more coin than me. Then i got an imported model wench and i must say it now costs me very little coin to keep this one running and in excellent order so much i like to use it all the time especially when it goes in and out it as runs so smooth and the pulling power is beyond belief, so i would recommend an imported model.

Yes, that is true some of the Thai ones have an extra dip stick that you just don't want! Some times it hidden under tape so you don't see it with quick look over, or after dark, or beer or both, so I am told!

Got to aggree ,I am disappointed , It is supposed to be a family friendly forum . The words lead by example come to mind.

Ian you miss the point, sometimes this world is not perfect and people are not always right and we all get things wrong and we need to laugh at ourself. If you want to take your bat and ball and play somewhere else that's up too you, but don't slam the door behind you. If you think someone has been treated wrong for what they said stay and fight for free speech. I don't like the use of the "f" word in every sentence but we don't all speech perfect English. I still talk to people that use colourful words so to be down on people that do. If you think the Catman thing was done badly don't just point and compare it to others.
