Has anyone had any luck with the Wench? Just wondering.

I have no luck with my wench.

Nothing I do seems to be right. Most often, especially in the morning, the cable has all spooled off and is in a big birds nest. This inevitably leads to a bad attitude from the wench and a bad start to the day. Usually, it is downhill from there. Often have oil leaks, lots of smoke and heat and very little work gets done.

Overall, I'm wondering if it might be time to consider trading in my wench for a newer model. I've seen some very interesting newer wenches with all kinds of neat features. I have some friends who have tried out the new model wenches, though, and have heard that they have a lot of the same problems as the older wenches. Many of these friends seem to have continuing troubles with their old wenches, even after getting a new wench, too.

I think maybe, even with all the troubles, I'll just stick with my old wench. After all, no luck is better than bad luck, right?

Lol, maybe you should use the old ball & chain!

In my younger days I can remember on odd occasions a wench being used to pull me out of a tavern or two. In those days, beer goggles made any brand of wench look good, although usually on removal of the beer goggles and closer inspection, some wenches were found to be very inferior. I can definitely relate to your experiences Pete, I am told the bigger the cable the more a wench can pull.
