The left hand radiator side plates from the first U model d2, all the way through the series should interchange as the part numbers cross. The right hand side is the same up to 5U17569 when the openings for the oil cooler tubes were no longer machined into the casting, but if the oil cooler is not being used, a later side should fit. On a later model without the oil cooler, the side plates from any U series D2 should work. The very late models had a different font on the lettering, but no change in the part number noted, first picture is 5U17596 second is 5U18479.

I need the left-side plate 8F142 if anyone has a spare : ) Don't fancy my chances of removing the broken off bolt and then brazing the missing chunk back on - that small stub on the bottom...

Cheers,

The metal will easily weld using low hydrogen sticks and short passes. I welded in a quarter moon shaped slice of steel to my cast D2 rad side panel to replace a missing piece measuring 10 x 3 inches at the widest part.
No one would know it was missing:)

I doubt anyone is going to be parting out a late tractor....

Thanks Inter, I'll give it a shot. The hard part is removing the broken chunk of stud in there - wish I had a mag base or a decent drill press...

If the broken piece is any were close to flush much easier to weld a flat washer and nut on than drill and tap.

We can discuss at SM hopefully.
