Update on the D8. I finally came up with tooling needed to rebuild the injectors. One of the pictures is a tag that was in the tooling box that has specs that might be helpful for someone. The injectors were repaired and I reinstalled them. After getting it running I let it run at about 3/4 throttle for a hour, when I came back still had oil slobber and mist coming out the exhaust. I steam cleaned the tractor and if you run it at idle its not a problem but I won't paint the tractor till I correct it. I'll take it to the tractor show like it is and someday hope to remove the heads and make more repairs.

That is your problem with slobbering is the idling with no load on it. Take it out & work it hard under as full a load as you can & steady for even a half a day & see if that doesn,t help it. Those older Cats were prone to slobbering back then if they were not worked & let idle for a period of time & not just the D8s but all the tractors.Also make sure it runs up to operating temperature & if not possibly the thermostats are the fault.
