No i just replaced the head. i removed some of the valves and checked the guides and appered good valves same. I had pulled all the liners and put in new seals. Replaced the rings [new]. I will change out the rockers and then if same will try the screwdrive thing. Have the valves set at 10 th cold then again after it was warmed up. Carb adjustment is so so not sure what one is high and low or main and idle.
Thanks

Magnet Thanks i have changed out the rockers and it helped. set the valves as 10 then warm up set at 10 again. The mag spark is real good will acrk about 1/2 inch. Carb setting is much better and responseve now also. When i set the valves warm i found two intakes that i can feel side movement in thinking worn guides.
Could this be causeing my problem. I have two other heads and have replaced two valves in one. all the guides feel deasent but not perfect. What is most side movement allowed.
On another note the LC pumb has gotten a leak that is strange. On top of pump is a fitting that lookes like a greae fitting it has oil comeing out of it. Not steady but never leaked before.
Thanks

Maximum valve to guide clearance is .012 in. any more than that the valves will not seat properly. Desired (new) clearance is about half of max. What was the results of weak valve spring checks?
Seems like the check ball in the pump grease zerk has failed and is allowing lube to escape.

The screwdriver in the springs did nothing. I don't think i have 12 th side movement but it is more than six. But i guess at 67 years old it would come naturaly Thanks
Ok will change out that fitting.
I will take it and work it some and see what happens.
Thanks
