Yes there is A three bolt cover just below the pinion clutch. I talked to A man from Pony motor conversions and he told me about 70% of the hole was in the correct location and the rest were about 1/4 inch off? He also has starter conversions that take the place of yhe pony motor, and you would still have to pull the pinion in and operate the clutch. 900.00 and 1200.00 dollars! Wow, hey anybody got A hand crank for this thing, I will sick the ole lady on it.

If you want more pics I think I can do that, the other half took those. I think she may be able to teach me how to run her camera thingy.

Stay away from the pony replacement version...they eat clutches.
Read up on the conversion info site I posted. Many folks have done their own conversion at a fraction of those prices. I've yet to see a starter mounting hole that is 1/4 " off.
That KL designation in your generator serial number says it's a Louis Allis Generator that can be connected for either 110 or 220V

When the other half gets sick of cranking to start it and she says it has to go just send it over here to New Zealand as I would love to have it. I have a D13000 but the genset was scraped before I got it.

You get a chance, post some pictures of the lift on the back of the D2, I and others are interested to see what is back there and how it works.
Thanks,
Jeff

Here are the photos. The cylinder on the rear simply raises and lowers arm, which is controlled by center lever on valve body. The forwad lever raises and lowers front blade, and it appears to have the spools and mechanism but not handles for a tilt and angle blade. Darn. Any questions let me know.
