Casey- there are 3 6622s in that picture and we also have a fourth 22, our 02 was sold to another farmer last summer. Still have one ready to harvest 95-h sitting in a shed just for the heck of it though.

Long story short we wanted 4 222 headers for our 2 good 6622s, two for wheat and two for peas/lentils wtih pea bars mounted on them. It was hard to buy a header by itself for a reasonable price and since the prices of these old combines fell dramatically after the wheat price skyrocketed up 3 years ago we ended up buying two more combines with headers cheaply. One combine we have begun to part out already and the other one is in the shed ready to harvest. It is relatively high houred and not in the best shape but it could run as a backup machine easily.

Some pics from a JD dealer in the area. A 1985 6622, then a front shot of a 7722, then the 9632.

The 9632 was the last of the full leveling combines using the old style leveler, made until around the year 2000.

My neighbor that currently runs a 6622 and 6602 actually bought this 6622 though I did not know it when I took the pic.

NIF what do you think that D6C weighs with the long tracks and CAT cab? Today the D5 was in the shop and it sure looks small in comparison. We're still very wet and looks like next week will bring more of the same.

Great stuff, it doesn't act like it is hardly working up a sweat, great videos also. Several years ago, one of my neighbors brought in an 8K to rip down through his vineyard rows, now feature this, The Starkey flats, 12 foot rows, late August, there had been about 4 acre feet of water put on the grapes through drip irrigation on the row and in between the rows had been mowed ''only'' for the last 20 years, and 20 years of tractor trips pulling sprayers, picking machines and the like, got the idea? Now I had the job of building points for the single shank they were using, 3 passes with the ''K'' yielded 18 inches down and the points were lasting about 1hour and twenty minutes, boy did I burn the hardface and Mag plates on that job. A bit later in the year, after a bit of rain, they came back with a JD "T" series and a three point ripper and went 36 inches with a bit of effort. I guess it goes to show ya, even with all the brawn in the world, sometimes Mother Nature can make things a bit better.

Where is that BTW? Tad

bleedinred- not sure how much it would weigh but probably 30,000 easily. We put our 6C on the truck scales at the warehouse when we hauled it home and it was 28,500. It does have a steel cab but only has 24 inch pads and 6 roller frame.

Very wet here as well. We were starting to dry out a bit 10 days ago but then we got over an inch of rain in 6 hours last Saturday and then more through the week with a few inches of snow as well.

We purchased a used 60ft harrow cart and bought new McGregor flex harrow to put on it. I will post pics when it is painted and ready to use. We also purchased a 1991 peterbilt truck with a 425 hp Cat 3406B engine and a 15 speed transmission. We will have a 20ft bed, box, and hoist installed on it and have it ready by harvest.

NIF, you'll like that 3406, especially with the 20' box as it should play with that load. This year we'll be running two of those engines in trucks and I think they're the best for hill/farm due to the torque curve. Getting a little hard to find Bs but worth the hunt to get away from the electronics in the newer ones. We did some work an another 9500 SH and it is ready to go, so the 22s will get the brunt of the steep stuff.
