Hi, bernie.
As far as I know, there is no actual 'wheel lock' on any of these machines. There is NO differential which means that the drive is 'locked up' to both sides all the time, even in turns. This means that all 4 rear wheels are driving all the time - - - provided that nothing is broken.
The only other 'wheel lock' that I am aware of would be the lock washer under the retaining nut on each wheel which should have the tags bent over after tightening the nut to stop it coming undone again.
Hope this helps.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi Deas-good clarification. There were several discussions I went through and a few had to do with pulling and pressing rear wheels back on. Thanks for setting me on track. I appreciate your interest-
Keep safe-

Hi, bernie.
It is important to understand that the 'retaining nut' was not designed to hold the hub onto the axle. it is only there to stop the hub coming off the axle if it comes loose.
The REAL holding of the hub on the axle is done by the press fit onto the taper of the axle and should be dome with the appropriate press equipment with clean dry hub and clean dry axle and to the proper specs for the particular machine. As I understand it, this applies to ALL Cat equipment with press fit wheels or drive sprockets and from pretty early times.

I thought I’d replied to your post, Deas. Anyway, your point about the press fit is a good one. Several posts on that topic are floating around as well. Our old friend and guru ccjersey and you (among others) have shared experiences relative to that very topic. It’ll be useful to me if I get to changing out tubes/tires I’ll bet.
I searched through posts and found mention of “gear lock” and not “wheel lock”. At least I couldn’t find “wheel lock” any where, so I likely misused that term, although I still think I saw it somewhere 🤷. Either way I’m sure “gear lock” is correct.

Bernie, to get tires and tubes off you only need to remove the rim and not the whole hub. The rim is removed by removing the rim clamps at the outer area of the hub.

Hi, bernie.
Yes, they have a gear lock, which is actuated by the clutch pedal linkage.

Bernie In relation to question 2 I had the same issue with stuck in Neutral. Removed Selector side cover and freed up detents by lifting up and down with screw driver. Also disconnected shifter lock connected to clutch shaft just to eliminate it. Once gears selected again, everything freed up good
