Yes I finally got it off.  After the nut wouldnt push it off I used a 2 jaw gear puller with a screw type pusher.  That also did not work.  I ended up making base plate for the hydraulic puller to attach to that used the puller arms I had.  It ended up taking 15 tons of pressure from the puller as well as whatever pressure the nut was applying.  If those ears wouldnt have been on the bearing holder it would have had to have been cut  off.

I'm glad you got there. I'm not a fan of the press-fit assembly method. I'd prefer fine tolerances and a lot of capscrews, no special equipment or risky procedures required comparatively speaking
