I might be buying what I think is a 12E grader. Cheap enough, but I'll only pick it up if I can get it to run. I want to get it going almost as much to use it as to keep it from being shredded.
It's got a pony motor with an electric starter. I've read threads here indicating I can convert to full electric start or struggle through getting the pony motor to start. Based on the apparent benefits of the pony motor, I'll try this first(first we'll try to pop start it. I'm  enclosing pictures of the grenaded starter. Can someone tell me what I have and what I can get to replace it? Is there a bendix starter that can be used?

I'm in a rush this morning and don't have time to cross-check this. IF your 12E uses the same starting engine the starter is 9H3675. There are several 9H3675 available on Machinery Trader Parts. 
IF The starting engine is the D6B type "Buzz-Bomb" care should be taken to follow correct procedures in it's use.

I just looked an image up of your part number for the starter, that's it. Next question, is there an upgrade? It does say it's a 12v on the tag pictured.

Yes, you have an infamous "buzz bomb" starting engine there. Not too common. Never seen one in action, but heard of the high revs it takes to spin and prone to failure. You would have a unique set up there if it was made operational. Good luck on your new catch. JM

I'd recommend Direct Electric Start, those "buzz bomb" pony motors are a disaster.
Be aware that the Direct Starter for the D333 uses a LH helix drive gear.
