Hi Folk, been following this post for a while, Interesting . I went through this Process some years ago . I had a genuine Starter to Copy from and We had Ring Gears Made [In India I think] . I just checked and still have 1 casting left , I had all the Starters up graded to12 Volts instead of 6 volts , Bit of work fitting the Ring in but they work Fantastic.. My Lecky fitted a bearing [Bush] in middle some where to Counter the extra Torque from the 12 Volts. We used Old Chevy Starters for the Body and the Rest Came from USA . LJ
