JM -
Do you have a full spool of proper size rope for starting engines?
Rumor has it, ropes can slip from hands, sometimes only to be found in trees or ditches. Especially if those ropes are intended for 3J's!
Not too sure about the D4's, I never had the displeasure of getting aquainted with a RD or 7U that did not start easily. Some great memories with RD4, Diesel 40, and a few with D2's that I would really like to forget, but someone won't let that happen.

Now since I am well seasoned, I think it would be best to let the youngsters demonstrate proper starting procedures!
Once the greasing and pre-operational duties are completed, and with clean grousers for the steps, I might find the recall to put one in gear and make the dust fly!

Like riding a bicycle, worst is one can fall off.

I am very happy to see JM gathering the machines, so many are left abandon and uncared for, one day when these new fangled computerized "whiz kids" won't run, the old ones will come out of hibernation and save the day!

More disking. Say goodbye to some unproductive almond orchards. Another commodity swing; back to cling peaches until that bottoms out again.
My 9U didn’t have enough go power or speed for me, so I quickly swapped over to a C series instead. JM

Hey JM nice pics. Will you use a land leveler to get rid of the rolling swells or just level with the disking?
What did you use to push out the almond trees?

I like the allis L disk and especially the Allis ring roller.

This particular tenant owns several D8 high track units, along with a Cat excavator w/thumb. They will use the excavator for across the street to take down some walnut trees for us. (photos when they come back here).
If it wasn't a hassle, I would have hooked my Allis Chalmers HD-6E to the "L" disk and roller! I am "funny" about things here, I purposely pieced together an all AC unit to be color coordinated (Orange Murray scraper too!) I have an IH TD-6 62 series set up with an IH wheel disk and IH ring roller as well. The rest of the stuff is mostly made up of JD Killefer to coordinate with the old CATs. Just like playing in the sandbox for me...
I will try to get someone to "loan me back" my Marvin Triplane scraper, and probably use my high horse D7E. I wished I still owned my old 17A, that thing was so agile and balanced for pulling a triplane scraper.
Not getting rich out here, but sure beats the heck out of being stuck behind the desk. JM
