Yea just for a service, oil change in pony motor clutch I could clean with atf or kerosene. If I had it on the table I’d use the good stuff and get it clean as a pen. I use one of those suction gun to put the oil back in cuz it difficult do. I use yamalube oil

vinegar is acid not cuastic. cuastic describes alkalis. both groups of compounds are corrosive. wear gloves and a face shield. a apron is also a good idea.

yes there is a new product come on the market in australia as an alternative to glyphosphate based on acetic acid called local safe. there not really sure how it works but as far as they can tell it simply strips the outer layer of the target plants and pests disease and weather finish em off. best bit nothing is resistant to it, leaves no residue and apart from being corrosive is non toxic and safe to use. and breaks down quickly and when fully diluted is inert. by the way full overalls is standard PPE for all herbicides and pesticides. the danger comes from the fact your spraying it so you could come in contact with mists of the product.

Caustic can be a verb or a noun.  A noun would be an alkali like sodium hydroxide (NAOH), however, when used as a verb almost any acid or alkali is caustic which means corrosive
