I ordered up some new bushings and pins for the hydraulic lever and linkage. Nice easy task that really refreshed the feel of the lever.

Wow, nice! I am the same way here, sloppy levers just do not feel right, and I try to shim some up to make them snug. I have cheated before and used very thin brass "shim" stock" and trimmed it to size with scissors. Were your bushings/shaft etc. from a dealership? Thanks for the photos. JM

Thanks, Yea I just ordered from the local Cat dealership. These parts would be easy enough to make if a guy had a lathe and the knowledge but unfortunately I don’t have either.

I've heard a few empty beer cans help ... well, you don't seem to notice the slop as much.

Hi, Fat Dan.
I wouldn't know about that. I quit drinking in 1981. LOL.

I am all for what Seyser did, by ordering the parts and doing it proper. I had some very sloppy steering levers on one of the 5 roller D4 orchard machines that I had acquired recently; I was prepared to have my wrench guy make new shafts as well as re-bush and replace the handles on the levers. Lucky me, he happened to have lightly used ones to swap out instead. They were so worn, one would think they were Joysticks! JM

What is the process to get at the bushings in the triangle support? It appears like the inside bracket that bolts to the track frame has to come off? I already know how those tapered bolts will come out or not...

Yes then there is a cap on the end of the shaft held on with two bolts, remove that then the shaft will slide out.
