I finally got my new girl home and now the fun begins. I believe it to be very original and complete, but here are some photos for the experts here on the forum to peruse, let me know if you see anything of note.

She's not a runner as she sits, I got her unloaded but not quite in the barn just yet. Here's what little I know: both engines are free and have oil, pony has compression, but I'm not seeing any spark, the pony gas tank is pretty corroded inside and that's about as far as I've gotten. I'll have her in the barn tomorrow and start working on getting the pony running.

If anyone knows of some properly patinaed side panels and cat bolts to go with, give me a shout!

The old girl looks to be in pretty good shape. Hope nothing major is hidden underneath but should be a fun project. We are jealous you have a PTO.

Wow, there's a lot to like on that early 5U - personal favorites are the intact corks in the bolt holes, the without-battery lighting system, the muffler, the pressed tin fenders, the almost flawless PTO shield, the clear decals and stamped plates on the generator and regulator, the pristine toolbox, pristine track covers, the lack of significant oil leaks, the paint still on the rails, the straight drawbar, and the undented grille. You clearly won! : ) I'm looking forward to the two first start videos

Cheers,
Neil

Neil, I do plan to make some videos as I get into it. I'm not sure I "won" yet, my wife is certain that I have lost..... it, hehehe. At least she smiles when she says "you're weird". You like the same things that attracted me to it - I think all the corks are still there, many still with paint.

Just tell her it keeps you off the streets and it's cheaper than a mid-life crisis : ) Plus she'll know exactly where you are when you say you're heading outdoors for a bit...

Cheers,
Neil

Outstanding! That’s a beautiful original machine that deserves to be stored inside. Great find and thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on a really nice find. This tractor does appear to have low hours on it and super straight. We are confident that you will have it running in no time! JM
