Read and follow the service mans reference book . They show the lifting points and say what needs to be removed. Some times it seem parts don't fit out the space given, but with patience it always does.

Well since I don't have OEM books and the ones I have from the Army specifically exclude trans R&R, I guess we are winging it. Tells how to pull every other item and rebuild the trans, but not remove it. Speshal......

Second trainzkidd's recommendation. The Samsung tablet fairs way better laying on the hood of my 6C in the wind than my over used reproduction service manual. And the white lab coat shown in the pictures from Cat manual is a must. Anything else gets dirty beyond recognition.

I think there is a video of an old guy pulling one out on YouTube. Diesel power TV is the channel I think. Not sure how in detail it is as it’s been years since I saw it.

I wouldn't waste my time watching that clown! Just a "wam-bam-good enough" "mechanic" doesn't know what a grease gun is, the universal joint he pulls out is all shot and rusted up.

How is that the mechanics fault?

Couldn't be any worse than the guy who ripped out a starter motor with a bobcat because he couldn't get one bolt out.
