How old is that, Kelly? I didn't know McCoy started out with a partner. But then I'm just a kid...

This is really interesting. I was trying to think of the Cat Dealer by me from way back, when post # 27 had one of the dealers name. It was Oehlert Tractor Company of Salina, KS. They were bought out by Foley Tractor Co. of Wichita, KS and now, they own all the Cat Dealer ships in Ks. plus they took over a big one in KC, KS by the name of Dean Machinery which was also in KC. MO. Martin Tractor CO. was in Topeka and Concordia, KS and some out West but they have taken over them also. Foley Equip just built a big new building in Wichita, KS and are in the process of building right now, a new building in Salina. catskinner

Ron, I'm not for sure of its age, it could have been one of my dad’s he smoked and there was most always a cat salesman around the office handing out matches, fobs as well as caterpillar service reporters after he bought the army surplus tractor, after WWII.
I don’t have any information about HELD and McCoy as a partnership. I do have an invoice dated 11/25/45 I’ll include, but Floy McCoy was killed in a plane crash in 1949 and then ED Honnen took over the caterpillar franchise in 1950 from Floy McCoy. Ed, and his sons Pet and Earle ran McCoy company together, but after12 years Pet started his own company Honnen Equipment (john deer construction equipment) you know the location Ha-ha, and you know the rest of the story.

That's interesting, I know it was McCoy Co. when I was little, my teen-age aunts used to take me out to the McCoy store & let me sit on the Cats & pull levers...I was the first kid in the family, so they sorta spoiled me.
My old boss, Davis, worked for Earle Honnen at McCoy, & when they sold out to Wagner he bought the John Deere ag dealership, just in time for the Carter grain embargo & all the other disasters in the 80's...things went downhill from there.
Didn't see you at the auction, I went out Saturday & watched the tractors & guns sell, didn't go back Sunday for the junk...

Ron, I can’t find anything on Held so I don’t know just what part he played in the Held and McCoy partnership.
I was at the auction all three days but never stayed long till Sunday. I had a few items for sale on the last trailer and in the next to last line and after they sold the hit-miss engines I came home. It was cold and I had on two Carhartt coats, catch you later.
