Actually I just parted out another machine so I have a set, my plan was to get this machine back together using the other parts from the parts machine I have as I only took the trans parts from it but currently finances just don't allow the purchase of this one. ( It would be terrible to see this go to scrap).
So I have a set of rails and pads on a machine that rolled onto my trailer with ease a few months ago so I'm sure the tracks are all still loose. I'm in north Jersey.
Speaking to Stuart in text and looking at pictures he sent me it looks to also be missing one side of bottom rollers but not positive. See picture right side looks to be sitting on a block.

That's good to know. Do you have some spare rollers as well? I talked to my buddy about this machine as he lives about a mile or two away (so we'll road it to his place! : ) and he's keen but for it to be feasible, we'd need at least junk parts to reinstall so it will actually move. I can come get them as I have a 14k trailer that would do the job.
I make it to be about 9 tons. Scrap seems to be between 150 and 200 per ton
Cheers,

We got this unit running yesterday. Points were terribly corroded, we replaced the condensor just in case, and I reset the angle the primary coil wire connector was sitting at because it might have been inadvertently grounding itself. Removed the air cleaner and the intake tube to make access easier. It was a Wico mag and I wouldn't mind instructions on how to set it up. It runs but I'm not sure if I have everything just so. Need a new set of spark plug wires for it that I'll get from one of the vendors here. Pony started quite easily, no problems with carb. Diesel engine took about a minute 30 to get running. It was hot yesterday but for a machine that's been sitting 20 years or whatever, the main engine seemed to start very easily, even with the manky smelling diesel in it. Now have to make a trip to NJ to get some tracks for it. Left clutch does not release but that seems to be the only problem with the machine. New set of hoses all round, new battery and some wiring so it'll stay charged, and it will be ready for work. My understanding is that the steering on the D4 7U is not bad to fix up because the whole shaft can be removed fairly easily. What's the process? Remove seat tank, top deck, pinion shaft cover and there it is? This of course will mean building a pole barn to put it in : ) My buddy will be thrilled at all this cool project work : )
Cheers,
Neil

Neato. A small engine hoist will be your best friend for the steering clutch job and a parking place you can roll it a couple of feet to remove flange bolts. Enjoy. Hah! JM

Keep an eye on the engine oil, sitting that long that seal might leak between the fuel filter housing and injection pump housing. I also see it has the counter weight rack but no weights. There are eight of them at 125 lbs each, this is what they look like....

Thanks team, yes it definitely needs some TLC but on the other hand, it's benefitted from being inside the barn since it was parked up. If it had been outside, I'm sure we wouldn't even be having this conversation.... I'm hoping that we can at least free the left clutch just so's it's usable but the right clutch lever has some kind of strange feeling where it doesn't want to sit forward in its resting position, so I'd say there's plenty of opportunity to improve it : )
Cheers,

So was this unit sold or is it still there Neil? My HT4 lost all oil pressure and is down for the count. I may be interested in saving it.

Hi Joe, yeah my buddy bought it after we got both engines running. He's going to take a run down to Joisey to pick up some tracks and rollers so we can get it mobile. However, Andrew Reisinger who has some parts and wants to get rid of them might have what you need. I'll text him and let him know you're looking for some engine parts?
Cheers,
Neil
