Thank you Oldmagnet for all your help. 2S1273 is definitely 2 1/8 inch dia. We are now looking for the 1s1967. I have been on the phone since 5 am trying to get someone to make a measurement. AMT aftermarket lists both but cant find one to measure. CAT has a new cCAT in Illinois but only lists the box size it comes in. Another take away to this is, never assume that a 66 year old machine is going to have original parts on it. Thanks again, you are a treasure of information. John

The 1S1970 glow plug chambers with the 2L2277 glow plug plugs might be an easier to obtain option then your glow plug ready.

I have some chambers 1h7653 and they refer to 1s1967 and outside tread approximatif 1.128 inch

1H7653 is the larger diameter retainer (2-3/8") that would be used with the 2S1273 chamber (2-1/8 OD)
The 1S1967 chamber should be 2-3/8 OD
All have the 1-1/8 - 12 tpi thread.
