Closest I could get is on a 953 and yes it has an engine oil pressure switch. Harness shows four connection leads so there may be two of them??
Further digging shows one 9G8010 engine oil pressure switch.

I've owned three 943's and I don't believe there is any oil pressure shutdown on that engine, if it is water freezing in the oil pan it has probably got in through the exhaust, there could be water still lying in the top of the pistons preventing combustion,
Old Magnet you are correct there are 2 oil pressure switches, one for the oil pressure light and the other to signal to the monitor system the engine is running.

Thanks for the information, the stack was covered when I was there but it sat for 3 years, so who knows, I seriously want to go back with tools, inspection mirror and a good light to learn more.
So the engine monitor, will that prevent fueling when no oil pressure is present ?

Hi Team,
the rack limiter being discussed is an oil pressure retracted piston/plunger that restricts the rack travel to just above Low Idle speed so you cannot rev the engine too high from an engine start up condition before oil pressure retracts the piston. It does not shut the engine down like a Safety Device would.
If oil pressure was lost and you ran the engine at Low Idle the device would then prevent revving the engine above its set low engine RPM's.
See scan below.
Oh well that failed due to now having exceeded my attachment limit on here so when I get time I will delete a ton of stuff to get back into range.
Thought I wrote earlier about removing axles and tethering machine between two machines to tow it--yet another that disappeared into the ether by the look of it.
One machine tows and the other acts as a brake behind the towed unit. A hard bar tow setup can work but if the towed unit gets too far out of alignment on a downhill decent it can turn itself on the end of the bar and try to pass the towing unit--hence two machines is the Safer Option.
NOTE without the axles fitted the machine is free to roll or turn uncontrolled--picture a loose cannon so to speak.
There is a way to release the brakes with a low pressure powered hydraulic pump that allows you to release them and to re-apply the brakes if needed.
It was a Service Tool we had at The Dealer--from memory I think I have used a Cat 6F0025 Service Press pump--being mindful to not exceed a few hundred PSI--just enough to release the brakes as you do not want to damage the brake release piston system.
I had to leave all my Service School Books at the Dealer when I Retired and now are going from memory--may have an odd piece of literature in the back shed --hope to get time to look later today.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I thought some time ago the bbs gave edb and OM unlimited attachment space?

Steve A, the monitor is only an electronic box of lights that gives warning on three levels for:
Engine oil pressure, coolant temp, Alternator/ charge light and transmission temp, it does NOT shut the engine down in the event of low oil pressure , it's pretty basic by modern standards.
To correct my earlier post the second oil pressure switch is to activate the hour meter, I believe
the fuel pressure switch is to signal engine running to the monitor panel.
