Hi Team,
in essence the links are basically three or four sections of insertion rubber stacked to give the thickness needed, or better still would be conveyor belting as it seems to have more and heavier canvas inserted thru it.

For the Boss's Thirty I used pieces of suitable section conveyor belting to make the links--well what ever was available from a friendly Customer with a quarry.
I made a template, still have in my Cat tool box, and cut, ground to shape and punched the necessary drive pin holes to suit, yes, a bit tedious but they are still working for a Show Machine.

Just a thought if you need a cheap set or they become unobtainable.

This suggestion is likely worth what you paid for it. Your experience may vary.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

edb that was the first idea I had when I saw the links was to make some from conveyer belt.
I may go down that path anyway because rethinking what happened on that fatefull day I believe
that the starter pinion let go and hit the flywheel and clutch links and ended up just sitting near the
chassis rail for an hour while I worked the machine.I didnt know any thing was wrong until I shut it down
and went to restart it.So its the start pinion shaft I realy need

regards glen
ps tow started with the D2 and got it off the mountain and out of the bush onto flat ground ready to fix

I have a bad engine spare pony unit complete with transmission and pinion for a 2U-D8. I did not reply sooner because I am a long way from you. If you can post a picture and part number of the pinion shaft I can probably find a postal express box to send it over half way reasonable..
